Rashid Saba, OD
Dr. Rashid Saba has been a part of the Tampa Bay community since moving with his family to Tampa in 1975. He is a product of the local education system graduating Berkeley Preparatory School and earning an academic scholarship to Saint Louis University. Dr. Saba earned his medical degree at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and completed his residency in Internal Medicine Residency at Mount Sinai Medical center in Miami Beach, FL. Dr. Saba then completed a Leukemia Fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston Texas where he treated leukemia patients while publishing and presenting his research on essential thrombocytosis as a speaker at the American Society of Clinical Oncology annual conference in San Diego, CA. It is during this time that Dr. Saba became interested in the human body's ability to heal itself and respond to replacement of deficiencies that occur with aging including vitamin, mineral and hormone supplementation.
Dr. Saba has had the privilege of primary care physician services to the local community in the office and hospital setting for issues such as common as high blood pressure and diabetes to not so routine issues such as endocrine gland disorders, cancer, and a myriad of conditions in between. During his time he has evolved his practice to include lifestyle modification with supplement and hormone replacement as a tool vital for treatment and prevention and has been able to at minimum decrease the amount of pharmaceutical medications a patient may require. Dr. Saba places special emphasis in ensuring that any replacement therapy he recommends will not adversely affect any other medication or condition a patient may be taking or dealing with. "Patient's appreciate that I am able to address their "regular" primary care issues and also give them the opportunity to participate in replacement therapies as well. The goal being that our patients achieve the quality of life with the quantity of activity they desire for as long as possible.
